Released in 2015, Hypertext Transfer Protocol version 2 (HTTP/2 or H2) is the first significant upgrade over HTTP.

HTTP/2 can load multiple page elements in parallel over a single TCP connection. It reduces the latency to serve requested content faster by doing the following.

• Server push technologies
• Binary protocol
• Request prioritization
